Through their home rule charter authority, under the Oregon Constitution, the citizens of Klamath Falls voted to adopt a Council-Manager form of local government in 1972.The City Manager's Office is responsible for the efficient and effective implementation of the City Council's policies, goals and objectives. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the City, and to manage the daily operations of the City staff.
