Captain Brosterhous

Captain Ryan Brosterhous has over 20 years of law enforcement experience, starting as a patrol officer with the Klamath Falls Police Department in 1996.  Since being hired, Captain Brosterhous has served as a patrol officer, narcotics detective, Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) member, a patrol sergeant, and an administrative lieutenant. Img_7922

As a Captain for the Klamath Falls Police Department, Captain Brosterhous currently oversees the Investigative and Support Division (ISD) of the department, which currently consists of the Detective Unit, Records Unit, Evidence Unit, one (1) School Resource Officer, and one (1) Information Technology Specialist.  Captain Brosterhous is also charged with budget oversight, equipment procurement, fleet maintenance, and administration of the department’s policy and procedure processes to include accreditation.  Captain Brosterhous also has department oversight of the Basin Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (BINET) and the Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS).

As a Captain for the City of Klamath Falls, Captain Brosterhous is responsible for planning, directing, reviewing, and administering activities and operations within his division consistent with community policing goals and objectives.  Captain Brosterhous is responsible for complex administrative support to the Chief of Police and may serve as the Acting Chief of Police, as assigned during the Chief’s Absence.

Captain Brosterhous has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Oregon State College, holds an Executive Certificate from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training and is a graduate of the 69th Command Institute for Law Enforcement Executives conducted by the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.  In 2016, Captain Brosterhous completed the Chief Executive Leadership course instructed by the Southern Police Institute.

Captain Brosterhous belongs to various professional organizations to include the Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.
