Lieutenant Rob Reynolds has twenty (20) years of law enforcement experience, beginning his career with the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office in 1996. Lieutenant Reynolds moved to the Klamath Falls Police Department (KFPD) in 1998. Since being hired with KFPD, he has served as a Patrol Officer, a Patrol Investigator, a Narcotics Detective for the Klamath Interagency Narcotics Team (KINT), a Major Crimes Detective, a Patrol Corporal, and a Patrol Sergeant. Lieutenant Reynolds also served his country in the United States Army in the Infantry and is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield / Storm.
Lieutenant Reynolds serves as the Commander for Klamath Falls SWAT and has been an active member of the team for nineteen (19) years. He has served as a member of the Entry Team, an Assistant Team Leader, and the Entry Team Leader before becoming the SWAT Commander. Lieutenant Reynolds is the lead Response to Force / Defensive Tactics Instructor for the department and had attended numerous defensive tactics courses to include Krav Maga Worldwide’s Force Division Level 1-4 courses, and the Gracie Academy’s Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) level 1 and 2 courses. Lieutenant Reynolds also served as a part-time Survival Skills Instructor for the Oregon Department of Public Safety, Standards, and Training (DPSST). Lieutenant Reynolds serves our community as an instructor in A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) and presents these lifesaving concepts to members of our community with the goal to increase survivability in an active shooter / violent intruder type of event.
Lieutenant Reynolds also serves as a Watch Commander, and he provides guidance and indirect supervision for two patrol teams. He is responsible for the strategic planning of his patrol teams’ missions, with the goal to reduce criminal activity in the City of Klamath Falls through proactive patrol tactics and serving the community to the best of their abilities.
Lieutenant Reynolds attended Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) and Kaplan University and has an Associate in Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He holds an Advanced Police and Supervisory Certificate through DPSST. He is a graduate of the Oregon Executive Development Institute (OEDI), the Sergeant’s Academy, the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) SWAT Commander School; and numerous other training events in regards to patrol tactics, investigations, SWAT, and leadership.
